Y-Axis Assembly

Assembling the Frame

Reference the picture below as frames are different lengths.

Ensure working surface is level before conducting assembly.
Fasten [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm and [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1210mm using two M5x8 low head bolts, two M5T nuts, and a [Expansion Kit] right-angle bracket.

Assemble as shown in picture.

Attach [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1210mm in the same manner on the opposite side of the [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm.

Secure [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm to [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1210mm by attaching it.

Referencing the three assembled sides pictured above, insert the V-slot frames by sliding them between the wheels of the X-axis.
Insert the X-axis so that the mini v plate_C is facing the [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm.

Insert two M5T into the exterior side of the [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm (for attaching the PCB case).

Attach [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm.

Given the properties of the aluminum frame, the [Previously Assembled] X-axis unit may not slide if there is no gap between the Y-axis.
A gap will not affect the operation of the machine.

V-slot Adjustment

The mini v plate eccentric spacer adjustment was done in the previous section , however minute adjustments will become necessary again according to procedure for the mini v plate_L_2040_1m and mini v plate_R_2040_1m.
As shown in the video below, the normal for the X-axis slide naturally when the machine is inclined.
Without lifting the expansion frame set, move the [Previously Assembled] X-axis unit along the Y-axis to ensure that the movement is smooth.

Y-axis Adjustment

Moving the X-axis as far as it will go in either direction, if there is even a slight catch somewhere along the path, loosen the eccentric spacers on either side of the mini v plate_L_20401m and the mini v plate_R_2040_1m slightly (video reference below).
Turn the eccentric spacers while paying attention to the bottom surface of the wheels and v-slot.
Operation will not be negatively affected by some slack in the [Previously Assembled] X-axis unit.

Y-axis V-slot Adjustment

Y-axis Motor Unit・Idler Pulley Plate Attachment

Attach to the V-slot where indicated in red.
Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit to the left side, and the idler pully plate to the right side.

Attach the [C-2] idler pulley plate.

Insert two M5T nuts from the ride side.

Attach the [C-2] idler pulley plate using M5x8 low head bolts.
※Further adjustments will be made at a later stage so tentatively position the idler pulley so that it just touches [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm.

Use the area indicated in red, at the juncture where the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit is attached.

Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit.

Insert two M5T nuts from the left side.

Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit using two M5x8 low head bolts.

Referencing the picture, adjust the edge or the aluminum frame and the Y-axis are perfectly aligned.
There is a similar positioning on the interior side, so ensure that the v-slot is also in perfect alignment there as well.

As shown in the picture below, ensure that the timing pulley aligns perfectly to the V-slot groove.

If the timing pulley is not in alignment, loosen the caterpillar screws, readjust the positioning, and retighten the screws.

Attach the opposite side in the same manner.

Attach the [C-2] idler pulley plate.

Insert two M5T nuts from the right side.

Attach the [C-2] idler pulley plate using M5x8 low head bolts.
Further adjustments will be made at a later stage so tentatively position the idler pulley so that it just touches [Expansion Kit] 2020 v-slot 1170mm.

Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit so that the part indicated in red faces downward.

Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit.

Insert two M5T nuts from the left side.

Attach the [Body/Expasion Kit for Combined Use] Y-axis motor unit using two M5x8 low head bolts.

Referencing the picture, adjust the edge or the aluminum frame and the Y-axis are perfectly aligned.
There is a similar positioning on the interior side, so ensure that the v-slot is also in perfect alignment there as well.

As shown in the picture below, ensure that the timing pulley aligns perfectly to the V-slot groove.

If the timing pulley is not in alignment, loosen the caterpillar screws, readjust the positioning, and retighten the screws.

Timing Belt 2700mm Attachment

Attach [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm using [C-1] cable ties just as before with X-axis.
(Below, the X-axis motor unit is shown facing you)
Insert [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm from the top so that the curved edges fold over and overlap.

Fasten the [C-1] cable ties tightly.

While attaching one side of [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm, turn both sides of the idler pulley once and fasten the opposite side with a cable tie.
※This time, fasten the cable tie while ensuring as little slack as possible in the timing belt 2700m. (However, there is a limit to the amount of tension the belt can withhold, so do not pull with excessive force. There will be a final tension adjustment made at a later step.)

Attach the wrapped around [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm to mini v plate_L_2040_1m with a cable tie.
Cut off the excess material that remains.

To ensure adequate tension on [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm, loosen the screws on the [C-2] idler pulley plate side and retighten them while pulling the in the direction illustrated in the picture below. This side is complete once you have ensured that [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm is adequately tight.

Attach the opposite side just as the in the previous step.

Insert [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm from the top so that the curved edges fold over and overlap.

Fasten the [C-1] cable ties tightly.

While attaching one side of [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm, turn both sides of the idler pulley once and fasten the opposite side with a cable tie.
※This time, fasten the cable tie while ensuring as little slack as possible in the timing belt 2700m. (However, there is a limit to the amount of tension the belt can withhold, so do not pull with excessive force. There will be a final tension adjustment made at a later step.)

Attach the wrapped around [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm to mini v plate_L_2040_1m with a cable tie.
Cut off the excess material that remains.

To ensure adequate tension on [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm, loosen the screws on the [C-2] idler pulley plate side and retighten them while pulling the in the direction illustrated in the picture below. This side is complete once you have ensured that [Expansion Kit] timing belt 2700mm is adequately tight.

Cut off the excess from the [C-1] cable ties.
