User Registration and Driver Installation

This section provides instruction on how to register and install driver.


User Registration

Go to http://fabool.smartdiys.com/ on Google Chrome or FireFox.

Click on [Sign Up] at the bottom of the page.

Create an account with one of the three you prefer.

  1. Signing up with an email address : Enter email address, passwords and other necessary information, and click on [Create Account].
    *An email from smartDIYs (info@smartdiys.com) will be sent for confirmation.
    *If you do not receive it please check spam box as well, as it goes into spam box sometimes.
    *If you do not see an email from us even in the spam box, you might have put a wrong email address, so please repeat the procedure and register again.

  2. Signing up with Facebook: Click on [Sign up with Facebook] -> allow for access by Facebook and create and account.

  3. Signing up with Google＋: Click on [Sign up with Google+] -> allow for access by Google and you are registered.

*You cannot register with multiple methods. Please choose one of the above.

Installation of Driver


For Windows

  1. Download installer for Windows at https://www.smartdiys.com/data/v280/FaboolInstallerWin.msi
  2. Open the installer file you downloaded.

  3. If security notice pops up, click on [allow]/[ok].　
    *Windows 10 might not show the [Open] button. If it does not appear, click on [Detail] in alert message and click on [Open]

  4. Click on [Next] on the installation page.

  5. Click on [Next].

  6. Click on [Next] on the installation page of the first device driver.

  7. Click on [Done] on the finish page of the first device driver.

  8. Click on [Next] on the installation page of the second device driver.
    *There are two device drivers. Please DO NOT cancel after the first device driver installation.

  9. 9. Click on [Done] on the finish page of the second device driver.

  10. Click on [Close] on the finish page of the installation. Installation of completed.

*Processing might stop if the PC goes into sleep mode while processing. Please disable sleep mode with the following instruction.

*If it says [No driver] on the status bar on upper right on main page of FABOOL Software after installation is completed, it is possible that “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistribution package (x86)” which is usually pre-installed, is not installed. Please install it from the link below and try again.

*If you are using proxy server on your browser, set “Don’t not use proxy server for local address.” Please see the link below for more details.
How to Configure a Proxy Server on Windows

For Mac

  1. Download installer for Mac OS X here: https://www.smartdiys.com/data/v280/FaboolInstallerMac_v280.pkg .
  2. Open the install file you downloaded.

  3. If caution message appears, click on [OK]

  4. Click on the install file while pressing Control key, and select [Open].

  6. Click on [Continue] on the installation page.

  7. Click on [Install].

  8. Enter Username and Password if needed and click on [Install Software].

  9. Click on [Close] on installation completion page. Install is completed.

*If you are using proxy server on the browser, set “127.0.0.1” manually. Please see the link below for more details.

For Linux and Raspberry Pi

  1. Download software for Linux/Raspberry Pi at
  2. https://www.smartdiys.com/data/v280/FaboolLinux_v280.zip.
  3. Unzip the downloaded file.
  4. Do the “chmod +x run.sh” command and set the execute permission on [run.sh] oh unzipped directory
  5. For Linux and Raspberry Pi, you need to start up the software manually. Open”run.sh” first and go to http://fabool.smartdiys.com/
